Drawing to a close…the classes of 2012

2012 has been a busy and productive year in my studio, and the weekly evening drawing classes that I offer, have gone from strength to strength. When I arrived in Grahamstown at the beginning of 2000, it was these classes that helped to get me on my feet, providing me with much needed income and a way to meet the many great people of this town. Since then, the classes have continued unabated and are now both the heartbeat and the backbone around which everything else happens. They bring  lifeblood and laughter into my very varied life, and it has been extremely rewarding for me to witness the growth of talent and self esteem in my students as they explore and develop their individual drawing styles.

The classes are designed for beginner and intermediate skill level adults, and are conducted in the relaxed and informal environment of my studio. They provide an opportunity for people to opt out of the rat race for a few hours each week to learn some new skills or develop existing ones, and give one the chance to unwind. The sessions are well structured but unpressurized, and there is an overriding sense of fun….and as many have told me, they are definitely the cheapest therapy in town!
